Structural Heart Coordinator (RN)

 

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is a full-service hospital offering a 531 bed inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical and specialty services. The campus includes Level II trauma capabilities, a Neuroscience Institute, The Heart & Vascular Hospital, a bariatrics program, the Breast Diagnostic Center, a wound care center, a level III Neonatal ICU, and the area’s only pediatric emergency department and pediatric ICU.

 

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center

 

What you will do in this role:

The Structural Heart Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and maintenance of a comprehensive Structural Heart program that complies with national standards for quality of care for patients as dictated by the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, and governmental regulation for Medicare compliance.

  • Educate nursing and ancillary staff on the best practices of Structural Heart patients. Develops and supports education.
  • Develops and recommends protocol and guidelines for best practice treatment of cardiac patients across the continuum of care.
  • Oversees, analyzes, and trends data related to throughput of cardiac patients and provides data to the CNO and/or other applicable hospital leadership to initiate changes as appropriate and improve processes and outcomes.
  • Work in a collegial manner with medical staff to assure continuity of care in cardiac patients and quality outcomes.

Works closely with Emergency Medical Services to assure optimal continuity of care from pre-hospital to hospital.

Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:
  • Two years of clinical experience in a Critical Care Setting. 
  • BSN Required for Nurse Certification Required for RN 
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BLCLS) and Certification
  • Current Texas State or Compact License with the State Board of Examiners
