Job Summary and Qualifications


Under the direction of the Radiologic Technologists, performs duties, which include sorting of films to be placed in for reading, filing, logging in of procedures, answers telephone and routing of mail.Assist Staff technologist in providing patient services utilizing diagnostic imaging modalities.Practices sterile technique when required and transport of patients to other modalities within Imaging Services. Possesses some knowledge of basic radiation protection, anatomy, positioning, and medical terminology.Performs a variety of duties, which include small amount of typing, computer knowledge and skills not requiring constant supervision.Will perform other related duties as required.


1.Assures that films are placed in to the radiologists area for reading in a timely and efficient manner.

2.Assists physicians and other staff members in locating patient film jackets and reports.

3.Assures that the examination room is cleaned and stocked with appropriate supplies.

4.Assists technologist to prepare patient for the designated examination.

5.Completes daily assignments in an efficient and effect manner to ensure professional operation of the department.

6.Practices sterile technique when required. Wears protective gloves, aprons, lead aprons, gowns, masks, etc. when deemed appropriate for either radiation safety as well as infectious safety.

7.Transport patients to and from the Radiology Department.Responsibility for the proper transportation and safety of the patient.

8.Treats patients with dignity and respect. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age specific care to patients in his or her assigned duties.

9.Performs a variety of clerical tasks to include; pulling jackets, sorting films to be placed for reading, filing, logging in of procedures, answers telephone, typing, computer knowledge, inputting / editing exams, and completion of requisition prior to setting films to be read.

10.Demonstrates Customer Service/Service Plus principles and behaviors appropriately.

11.Completes daily assignments in an efficient and effective manner to ensure professional operation of the department.

12.Other duties as assigned.

7.Job Specific:RT Aide

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical demands require performing all essential functions of this position as assigned.If requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.This position may require the use of personal protective equipment during various tasks/activities including but not limited to, back support belts, gloves, masks and safety glasses.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)

High School Graduate or equivalent. Current BCLS certified required.Senior Radiologic Technologists student of an accredited Radiology school and/or recent graduate preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: (list required and preferred separately)

Current BCLS certified required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:(list required and preferred separately)

Radiation protection concepts and techniques required.

Knowledge of radiographic physics, knowledge of medical terminology required.

Senior Radiological Technologists student of an accredited Radiology Tech school and/or recent graduate required.


  • Reads and writes basic English, with the basic skills necessary to understand medical terminology.
  • Ability to lift in excess of 100 pounds with assistance of staff.
  • Knowledge of department, hospital and universal infection control policies.
  • Must have effective communication in listening skills.
  • Must attend all department/hospital-mandated classes such as infection control, fire, safety, etc, in a twelve-month period.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • High School Graduate / GED
