Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

With 320 beds and a team of more than 500 physicians representing over 35 specialties, we offer a range of inpatient and outpatient services.

 

What you will do in this role:

  • Is accountable for consistent, safe, high quality care of all patients preparing and undergoing labor and delivery.
  • Demonstrates expertise in managing all aspects of fetal monitoring.
  • Demonstrates expertise in managing patients with various types of anesthesia for labor and delivery.
  • Demonstrates expertise in newborn care immediate post delivery.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide care in PACU and postpartum setting.
  • Organizes medical record with all documentation prior to transfer/discharge.
  • Responds effectively in an emergency situation.
  • Performs complete computerized documentation.
  • Provides age appropriate care to all patient populations for which staff member is responsible and trained for.

Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current registration with the Board of Nurse Examiners for the state of Texas or if recently graduated, have a valid permit to practice professional nursing.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • NRP required, but may take course within first year of employment.
  • Has documentation of attending AWHONN’s FHM P&P within past two years, but may take the course within 6 months to 1 year of employment.
