Located near the Las Vegas strip, Sunrise Children’s Hospital offers 24/7 pediatric emergency services in our ER just for kids. In addition to pediatric cardiology, Sunrise Children's Hospital also features Nevada's largest, most comprehensive 72-Bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), 24-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and 14-bed inpatient pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), the only one of its kind in Nevada today. The CICU is a 12,000 square-foot unit dedicated to the treatment of congenital heart defects, heart rhythm disturbances and heart disease in infants and children.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cath Lab Charge Nurse provides leadership and supervision of all employees in the Catheterization laboratory. The Cath Lab Charge Nurse is expected to apply hospital policies and procedures, as well as Standards of Care in the provision and supervision of patient care using the nursing process. The Cath Lab Charge Nurse is accountable for and has the authority to make decisions to promote quality patient care on their nursing unit.  The Cath Lab Charge Nurse collaborates with providers, hospital staff, and leadership to ensure required orders, documentation, and throughput processes are carried out in order to promote HCA quality measures and patient safety.

Qualifications

STATUS/SCHEDULE:  Full Time Days

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years recent clinical experience in Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ recent experience working as an RN in an acute care facility
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ recent experience working as an RN in a critical care area
  • Prior leadership experience preferred.

Education:

  • BSN from an accredited School of Nursing

License/Certification:

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada.  Independently maintains license and acquires required contact hours to maintain practice.  Acquires required contact hours to maintain practice
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PA:S within 6 months of hire/transfer

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic computer and hospital informatics skills required.
  • Complies with hospital employee health, infection control and safety management programs
