Registered Nurse (RN) – Radiology


As a vital member of the HCA Healthcare System, HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland which offers 33 licensed beds and shares the strength of more than 165 hospitals across the United States and England, including The Woman’s Hospital of Texas and HCA Healthcare Clear Lake.

The hospital is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center. 

What you will do in this role:

  • Administers medications in a safe, knowledgeable, and accurate manner.
  • Respects the rights of patients to include their cultural, psychosocial, and spiritual values to help improve patient outcomes.
  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients to include discharge planning activities utilizing an interdisciplinary team approach. 
  • Must be able to give conscious sedation to patients. 
  • Assists with the facility infection control activities under the supervision of the infection control coordinator.
  • Carries out physician's orders including treatments and procedures, in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Coordinates care to include pre admission, admission, hospitalization, pre discharge and after discharge where applicable.
  • Determines and prioritizes specific patient educational needs. Promotes interactive communication, encourages patient participation in care decisions, and promotes healthy lifestyles.
  • During department orientation, the Nurse Leader will discuss the Performance Appraisal process with the employee. Annually, the employee and Nurse Manager will review the Performance Appraisal, employee goals, and unit specific duties. 
  • Exhibits professional behavior that demonstrates a commitment to providing quality patient care, and is supportive of a professional working environment.
  • Follows laws, regulations, and hospital policy regarding controlled substances. 
  • Identifies own professional development and clinical learning needs, communicates them to management, and shares in the responsibility for fulfilling those needs. 
  • Observes patient, and records significant conditions and/or reactions to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Notification of any such condition and/or reaction will follow the established chain of command.
  • Participates in hospital activities that identify and reduce the risk of acquiring and transmitting infections among patients, employees, physicians, volunteers, students, visitors, and others. 
  • Participates in hospital performance improvement activities to improve patient outcomes. 
  • Performs other duties as required, including the unit specific duties as identified on the Criteria Based Performance Appraisal, and by the Nurse Manager/Director.
  • Promotes an atmosphere of collaboration and teamwork in all settings and circumstances. Shares acquired knowledge and skills with other members of the interdisciplinary team. 
  • Promotes and provides a safe, functional, supportive and effective environment for patients, staff members, and other individuals in the hospital.
  • Responsible for knowing and following the Rules and Regulations relating to the professional nurse education, licensure, and practice as set forth in the Nursing Practice Act and the Texas Occupations Code and Statutes regulating the practice of professional nursing. 


Graduate from an accredited program for Nursing is required. BSN is required.


What qualifications you will need:
• 1 or more year’s recent clinical experience as a RN required. Recovery Room or Critical Care experience is required. 
• Current Texas license as RN required.

  • Must be able to give concious sedation to patients. 

• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support course (BLS or BCLS) and certification is required.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support course (ALS or ACLS) and certification is required.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support course (PLS or PCLS) and certification is required.
