Nurse Manager (RN) – Telemetry
HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is a 439-bed acute care facility that has provided quality care to the Lake Houston area for over 25 years. It is home to the area’s only comprehensive cardiac, neuroscience and women services programs. Our Women & Children’s Center provides Level II and III neonatal intensive care units, high-risk obstetrics, a breast diagnostic center, a designated pediatric unit, and the area’s only pediatric emergency department.
HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.
What will you do in the role?
• Assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions during the designated shift. Provides direction to non-professional nursing personnel in providing direct patient care.
• Functions as a resource person for staff members and assists in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff.
• Assumes responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided when s/i on duty.
• Demonstrates professionalism and support administrative decision making, always mindful to maintain a positive stance on hospital changes and initiatives.
• Makes decisions regarding activities within these areas based on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, and Standards of Care for the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. .
Bachelor’s Degree required, BSN preferred.
If Bachelor’s degree is missing, must be enrolled in a BSN program within first 6 months of hire date and to complete BSN program within 2 years (24 months) of enrollment in the BSN program
What qualifications you will need:
• RN licensure by Texas Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.
• American Red Cross or America Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification is required.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification is required.
• Three (3) years of experience is a Medical Surgicall setting is required. Leadership and management experience is highly desirable.
