The duties and responsibilities of the Electrophysiology Technologist include, but are not limited to:

 

• Functions in the scrub and circulating role, to assist the circulating RN, as related to the EP Scope of Care.
• Responsible for all phases of filmless technology.
• Acquires and analyzes appropriate data necessary for interpretation of the EP study.
• Serves as a liaison for the Cath/EP Lab to promote physician, interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships.
• Utilizes equipment and performs special procedures competently as related to the EP Scope of Care.
• Effectively communicates verbal and written information, instruction or education to the patient, family members and other members of the health care team as appropriate.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:
Required – Minimum of two years in EP setting.
Preferred – Previous Cardiac Cath Lab experience in addition to EP experience. 
 
EDUCATION:
Required - Licensed ARRT, or RCES, BLS.
Preferred - Special procedure courses by an accredited program. 
 
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: 
BLS certification for the health care worker (Adult and Child).
ACLS certification within one year of hire date.
