SCHEDULE: 0.01 FTE PRN as needed
Under direction of the Clinical Coordinator, the Wound Care RN provides professional nursing care in accordance with the multi-disciplinary plan of care and physician orders. Uses nursing process, including but not limited to assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation to deliver and document patient care. Directs and guides patient care activities of team members.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Current California RN License.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Provider Course.
One (1) year or more of full-time RN experience- preferred
Previous wound care experience preferred.
Ability to learn and utilize computerized patient care management system.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Must effectively read, write and verbally communicate in the English language.
The Wound Care RN is directly responsible to the Clinical Coordinator and the Wound Care Center Director. A collaborative relationship with other staff nurses is maintained, as well as with the HBO Safety Officer, Certified Nursing Assistant, Administrative Assistant, and other department positions.
Degree of supervision required: Minimal, individual proceeds on his/her own initiative, in compliance with policies, practices and procedures prescribed by professional nursing practice and approved by the hospital’s Operations Division.
