Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center is a 218-bed acute care hospital proudly serving Bay County and surrounding communities for 40 years. The hospital was recently named a Joint Commission Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® – heart failure, heart attack, pneumonia, surgical care, and perinatal care – for the fourth consecutive year and has achieved certifications for its stroke and wound care.  Located in Panama City, Florida, its team of more than 450 providers and 1,000 employees work to ensure patients receive the highest quality of care every day. With the area’s only designated Pediatric ER, four-bed Pediatric ICU and 28-bed NICU, the hospital is ready to care for our youngest residents. The hospital has the only Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI as recognized by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. Additionally, the hospital’s cancer program is accredited by the Commission on Cancer and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). These designations enhance the hospital’s quality of care and demonstrate its commitment to higher, measurable standards of care.


The Student Nurse Tech I – III is a tiered position based upon education and experience of the student as they progress through their nursing program.  Specific tasks are aligned with the learning curriculum of local Florida nursing programs.  Student curriculum progress will be verified prior to tier assignment.  The SNT will be assigned a specific preceptor though as a part of the learning experience will be asked to complete nurse tech tasks as appropriate for the unit to which they are assigned, with the guidance of a nurse and their preceptor as necessary.

  • Vocational / Technical from an accredited institution
  • SNT I – must have successfully completed a minimum of 8 weeks of nursing school from an accredited institution  (2.5 GPA minimum)
  • SNT II – must have successfully completed year one of nursing school from an accredited institution  (2.5 GPA minimum)
  • SNT III – must have successfully completed third semester of nursing school from an accredited institution (2.5 GPA minimum)






  • BLS required at hire






  • Positive school and or other work related history
  • Basic computer skills and acumen






  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Quick learner
  • Asks questions, assertiveness
  • Time management
