Position Description: Responsible for assisting the Womens Center OR staff in the optimal use of computer system applications.  Includes coordinating integration of OR systems with internal and external systems, as well as a liaison to other departments such as Finance, Supply Chain, Admitting, Infection Control, Risk Management, IT&S, and HIMS. Responsible for installation, planning, coordinating and education of system applications, installation, upgrades and updates.  Responsible for ensuring data integrity through periodic audits and reviewing/revising policies/procedures in the use of supplied system software.


Position Requirements:


  • High School Diploma/GED is required
  • 2 years of experience implementing or managing OR scheduling/documentation systems is preferred


  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital based surgical services setting
  • Data processing experience including word processing, a working knowledge of nursing documentation systems and inventory system software
  • 2 years of administrative office/secretarial experience is preferred

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Demonstrated competence with patient care information systems, preferably MEDITECH. Strong planning, analytical and written skills. Basic understanding of the nursing process. Ability to utilize database, spreadsheet, word processing to conduct analysis of OR statistical reports. Ability to educate staff using adult learning principles.


  • Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association is required
