Some of the duties for the Plant Operations Supervisor include:

  1. Your role supervises activities involved with staff: Facility’s System Specialists, Engineers, Electrician, and Plumber.
  2. Your role coordinates schedules, shutdown, moving, etc. for all projects. 
  3. Your role will keep the facilities management informed of interim life safety issues and any changes to status of hospital systems.

Position Requirements:

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: OSHA 10 certification required within 3 months
  • Education: None required. Some college preferred.
  • Experience: Four (4) years supervisory experience as a maintenance or construction supervisor in a hospital similar to RMC or equivalent experience in industry or military or eight (8) years experience in hospital maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have a working knowledge of regulatory requirements pertinent to health care facilities including JCAHO, NFPA 99, NFPA 101, OSHA, EPA and Life Safety.  Possess good working knowledge of hospital mechanical systems, HVAC systems, medical gases, electrical distribution, emergency power, fire protection and alarms, power plant operation and general computer knowledge.
  • Degree of Supervision Required: Minimal supervision:  individual proceeds on his/her own initiative in compliance with policies, procedures and practices prescribed by immediate Director.
