Since 1950 Mercy Hospital has been serving the healthcare needs of South Florida. Licensed for 488-beds, Accredited by the Joint Commission, Mercy Hospital is affiliated with more than 1,000 physicians representing a wide range of medical specialties to serve the residents of Miami-Dade county and surrounding communities. Services include emergency care, heart and vascular care, maternity and neonatal care (Level II NICU), as well as outpatient and CARF accredited inpatient rehabilitation. Accessible by land, air and sea, Mercy is designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center and the hospital’s Comprehensive Community Cancer Program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.

Job Description:

Manages the activity of the nursing unit. Maintains responsibility for the overall management of the department's daily operations to achieve quality improvement,fiscal productivity and patient satisfaction goals and objectives established in conjunction with the Hospital goals and objectives.Maintains responsibility for staff performance and the accomplishment of departmental responsibilities in accordance with corporate,hospital, department and safety policies and procedures to meet company and regulatory compliance.Maintains responsibility for providing high quality patient care by acting as a liaison with patients and their representatives,physicians and employees.Maintains responsibility for the efficient operation of the department and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs.The Nurse Manager assumes the role of a leader in planning,directing and managing the department and staff to assure quality service on a 24 hour basis. He/she is responsible for meeting TJC standards,complying with corporate policy and procedures,managing supplies and equipment of the unit,promoting teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers,promoting internal and external customer satisfaction and for appropriate resource management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing
  • 1+ years of experience in healthcare - Required
  • 1+ years of experience in a leadership role - Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida
    • or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required
