Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of daily activities of Wound Care services to assure quality patient care; coordinate the efforts of staff in order to meet the needs of the patients and customers; and provide expert knowledge, leadership and education for individuals within Wound Care services. The Wound and Ostomy Clinical Coordinator collaborates with the Wound Care Team to develop educational programs to enhance the staff’s knowledge of current trends in Wound Care with an emphasis in wound and Ostomy Care; to develop, implement and maintain an improvement process for Wound Care services and to oversee the QI/PI program. The Wound and Ostomy Clinical Coordinator performs chart audits for process improvement of documentation, appropriate charging of procedures, and risk reduction. Anticipate and improve staffing based on department needs, collaborate with the Director in developing and implementing projects that enhance the quality of Wound and Ostomy Care with in Wound Care services.

What qualifications you will need:


REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS

 BCLS Certification

 RN licensure in State of Texas or Compact State

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

 Minimum of Diploma in Nursing required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

RN licensed in State of Texas.

Prefer Medical Surgical experience.

Minimum of 1 year of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of his/her unit.

Bilingual preferred
