Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for the operational financial management of the residency and fellowship-training program, as well as support for the Program Director and Residents. You will assess and direct long range planning, recruiting trainees, project development, analysis of administrative workflow, maintenance of databases, communication with faculty and trainees, and managing internal and external program relations.

  • You will develop, promote, and provide education symposia for physicians
  • You will conduct a needs assessment for the target audience
  • You will document offerings appropriately to meet criteria for obtaining continuing education credits for participating
  • You will assist the Program Director in the overall and day-to-day operations of the program
  • You will be responsible for organization of the recruitment, interview, and match process
  • You will understand program accreditation and assist in ensuring the residency fulfills all appropriate requirements
  • You will ensure completion of all appropriate resident documentation
  • You will be responsible for coordinating the residency and fellowship orientation programs
  • You will coordinate the learner educational experience
  • You will be responsible and accountable for assigned educational activities or initiatives associated with program development and innovation

What qualifications you will need:

Experience

  • 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in Graduate Medical Education administration – preferred

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

St. David’s South Austin Medical Center is an acute-care facility in central Texas with more than 300 patient beds. The hospital is known in the community for its nationally accredited oncology program – the Sarah Cannon Blood Cancer Center, home to the area’s only adult bone marrow transplant program – and Level II trauma center. The facility’s full range of specialized services includes cardiovascular care and rehabilitation, imaging services, women’s services, joint replacement and orthopedics, surgical services including weight loss surgery, wound care, emergency care, cancer care, nutrition services, and a sleep disorder center. The hospital operates three full-service emergency centers.
