Transporter - Radiology

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is a 444-bed acute care hospital in the heart of Houston’s museum district.  Established in 1975, the hospital has been serving Houston for more than 40 years. It provides a wide range of medical services, including cardiology, bariatrics, orthopedics, neurology, emergency care and more. 

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hos pitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.  

What you will do in this role:

  • Performs transportation functions in a safe and professional manner and according to established standards and practices.
  • Perform a variety of activities related to the transportation of patients, specimens and equipment.
  • Greet and assist patients and visitors at hospital and clinics as directed.
  • Assists with department office related tasks as required.

  • Transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas via wheelchair, stretcher or van service as requested to include transport of patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips and special equipment. 
  • Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers as requested.    
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.                                                                                

 

Qualifications

Qualifications
 

Education:
•      High School diploma or equivalent required.

What qualifications you will need:

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification required.
  • No training or experience; preferred to have hospital experience. 
  • Self directed, responsible, flexible, organized, and positive. Must be knowledable with tranportation equipement, Oxygen tanks, and medical equipement.
