Registered Nurse Cardiac Cath Lab
PRN - Per Diem (As Needed) 1 shift per week minimum
Days with Call Rotation

The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the general nursing activities in the Cardiac Cath Lab, providing quality patient care.  The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse is expected to assist with the planning and presentation of departmental in-services and to cross train in areas outside the normal nursing responsibilities.  The North Hills Hospital staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric, and pediatric patients from newborn through adolescence.  The attached criteria based performance provides a specific set of standards as they relate to age specific competency.

 

 
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
•  Delivers direct patient care according to established standards.    
•  Interprets pertinent diagnostic test results and initiates appropriate actions as needed.
•  Identifies and reports abnormal lab values.

Qualifications

Position Qualifications:

Graduate of a School of Nursing

Minimum 1 year ICU, CCU or Cardiac Cath Lab experience.

Current knowledge of ECG monitoring. 

 

Specific Requirements

CPR and ACLS certifications

I.A.B.P. experience preferred

Current licensure as a registered nurse. Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted; Texas State RN license required 30 days after hire.  

Possess the ability to work as member of a team or independently as the needs require and to prioritize responsibilities.

Ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians and employees.

Clinically proficient in cath lab procedures demonstrating a knowledge of the developmental needs of the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.
