PBX Operator – Communications Department

Corpus Christi Medical Center is a 631- bed Health Care System including Bay Area, Doctors Regional, The Heart Hospital, Northwest Regional, Bayview Behavioral Hospital, Northshore Emergency Center, Northwest Behavioral Health Center and Radiation Oncology at Corpus Christi Cancer Center.

What you will do in this role:

  • Provides the communication services between the hospital and the general public within the professional building in a professional, confidential, and competent manner.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to converse in a clear and understandable manner in all situations.
  • Has the ability to overhead page necessary personnel in a calm and professional manner.
  • Is responsible for insuring that all personnel are notified of any codes to ensure safety of all patients, guests, and employees.
  • Responsible for all duties as assigned by the Admissions Manager or the Business Office Director.

Qualifications

What qualification you will need:

  • Three years PBX Operator, communications, or customer service experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must be able to work under stress and be emotionally capable of coping with complex and/or changing conditions.
  • Requires the ability to prioritize, problem solve, make sound decisions, and work on a team.
