We are seeking a Mental Health Technician PRN our Geriatric Pyschology Unit to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

The Mental Health Technician PRN is responsible for patient safety, assisting with daily hygiene, ambulation, and delivery of patient care including data collection, documentation, communication and implementation of patient care interventions in accordance with state Nursing Practice Acts and generic/unit structure standards.

  • You will function as a treatment team member and conduct patient observation rounds, suicide risk observation and assist with behavior modification programs.
  • You will assist in the admission of new patients and prepare them for patient care.

  • Complete documentation in a timely, proficient and complete manner.
  • You will observe any changes in the patient‘s condition and report changes or concern to the primary RN or Charge nurse.
  • Ask the 3 Ps (pain, potty, positioning) prior to leaving a patient room.
  • Escort patients to and from scheduled activities in a safe and professional manner.
  • Performs all specific skills assigned including monitoring vital signs in a complete and accurate manner

 

Frankfort Regional Medical Center (FRMC) is a 173 bed, acute care facility, Level III Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Accredited Chest Pain Center. We primary serve the areas of Franklin, Anderson, Owen, Woodford, Shelby, and other surrounding counties. 

 

Qualifications

 

  • College degree or course work in Psychology or related Human Services field is preferred
  • American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Healthcare Provider upon hire
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) upon hire or within 30 days of hire
  • One year experience in a mental health or human services field is preferred.
