Quality & Accreditation Coordinator

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Develops, implements, and coordinates activities to ensure continuous compliance with Accreditation, State and Federal regulations and other external certification programs. Conducts tracers and makes recommendations to ensure continuous survey readiness.  Compiles, edits, and reports complex issues or processes related to accreditation and regulatory compliance activities.  Produces thorough, accurate, well designed and appropriate documents.  Prepares policies and procedures for review as needed to support activities related to accreditation and regulation.  Serves as an education resource to the organization to assist departments on regulatory requirements and follow through with compliance activities.  Completes special projects in preparation for accreditation and/or regulatory visits.   Participates in and/or leads accreditation and regulatory/certification surveys as needed.  Participates in committees and activities as needed to maintain an awareness of the current and emerging accreditation and regulatory compliance standards.  Evaluates and uses budgetary discretion when reviewing educational media and participates in identifying the budget needs for the department.

 

QUALIFICAITONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Professional licensure and/or certification in the healthcare field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a hospital setting with demonstrated experience with The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory agencies or certification survey processes.
  • Experience with related tools including computer programs such as Microsoft Office.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

Demonstrated skills in organization, verbal and written communications, customer service, critical thinking, math, analysis, reading, following instruction, and computer usage.  Maintains current knowledge of regulatory and accreditation agency requirements such as, but not limited to, The Joint Commission, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Florida Department of Health (FDOH), Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA), Boards of Licensure, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, and the Centers for Disease Control.
