SCHEDULE: Full-time


We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician like you to join our organization at Ocala Health's Maricamp ER.

Ocala Health's Maricamp ER is a 24/7 freestanding emergency room in Ocala, Florida. At our Maricamp ER, you will receive the same level of care from trained emergency doctors and nurses we offer at all our Ocala Health ERs.

Our Maricamp ER provides another convenient location in Ocala to access rapid, life-saving emergency care closer to home.

As part of the Ocala Health emergency care network, Maricamp ER offers the same expert care found at any of Ocala Health's four other convenient 24-hour emergency room locations in and around Marion and Sumter counties.

Our freestanding ER offers:

  • Adult and pediatric emergency care
  • Highly skilled, board-certified emergency medicine specialists
  • 12 patient beds
  • Private exam rooms
  • Designated trauma treatment room
  • Diagnostic imaging services, which include:
    • Computed tomography (CT) scan
    • Ultrasound
    • X-ray
  • Full-service laboratory

 You Will:
  • Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing
  • Seek guidance from medical technologists, supervisors, department head, and medical director in the review and interpretation of clinical laboratory data

  • Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results

  • Perform stat procedures, timed studies, and routine tests within established turnaround time targets

  • Review pending logs (OSR) and result logs; resolve any outstanding workload or communicates to staff relief

  • Perform quality control procedures per protocol and completes necessary documentation

  • Take pertinent corrective action when the patient, control, standard, calibration and/or proficiency results are not within appropriate guidelines

  • Assist supervisor in meeting department regulatory agency requirements (CAP, etc.) 

Qualifications

You Should Have:

  • A 2-Year/Associate Degree in Science is required

  • A State of Florida Technician License OR the ability to obtain a license during the interview process

  • ASCP or similar certification is very helpful

  • Less than 1 year of experience

  • Ability to work during disasters
