HCA Healthcare ITG Senior Automation Analysts are innovative individuals who use creativity and stakeholder partnerships to deliver business value.  Senior Automation Analysts execute on projects and/or programs with significant interdependencies and communicate across multiple channels including ITG and Business Operations, to define an initiative’s design and document desired solutions, develop automatons according to best practices and guidelines, and test automations to approved plans. Senior Automation Analysts have ownership of their efforts from conception, through the deployment of their products, including turnover to the appropriate technical and user support organizations.  As a recognized leader, Senior Automation Analysts will be sought after to coach and mentor colleagues.

•Elicit and gather requirements for automation projects by working directly with internal and external customers

•Develop and maintain strong, proactive relationships with internal customers and IT teams to deliver actionable solutions

•Assess and quantify potential benefits of automation for business and technical processes

•Assist with building automation strategies and frameworks based on planned and prioritized automation work

•Design, Develop, Execute and Maintain Automated Scripts to specifications

•Identify, design, and develop creative solutions for practical automation problems during design, scripting, execution or maintenance

•Write efficient, easy-to-follow documentation on automation tools, scripts, and processes

•Assist with manual testing as needed to help development team meet schedule commitments

•Promote, recommend, and implement improvements to automation frameworks and processes

•Plan, implement and support upgrades, configuration and customization of tools and technologies utilized by the Automation COE

•Mentor other team members in technical skills as well as business related areas and provide guidance on complex automation efforts

•Take ownership of automation initiatives and work closely with Team Lead and/or Manager with all automation project planning activities

•Stay informed of automation industry trends and best practices

•Communicate value of automation to enterprise to both technical and business leadership

•Works with multiple areas at HCA Healthcare to ensure understanding of assigned task.

•Adherence to all HCA Healthcare standards and policies.

•Supports development of technical standards.

•Analyzes user specifications and requirements.

•Identifies opportunities for process improvements.

•Works to participate and learn best practices and procedures.

•Adheres to best practices for software design, retention, documentation, and deployment strategies.

•Works directly with service operations, product, and vendor teams to resolve, prevent, and eliminate customer technology issues.

•Gathers and documents business, user, functional and non-functional requirements for in scope products.

•Establishes and maintains solid business relationships.

•Actively owns and participates in lifecycle management of assigned applications and infrastructure.

•May provide afterhours/on-call support for applications.

•Has the ability resolve simple to complex production support issues.

•Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree - Preferred


5 or years of experience in a Systems Engineering, Analyst or Developer role - Required

Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience


•Ability to write efficient, easy-to-follow documentation on automation tools, scripts, and processes - Required

•Ability to evaluate automation utilizing Six-Sigma principles for improvement opportunities - Required

•Ability to design, develop, and monitor business and technical processes - Required

•Ability to identify, design, and develop creative solutions for practical automation problems during design, scripting, execution or maintenance - Required

•Ability to build relationships, communicate effectively both formally and informally, and advocate for automation across the company - Required

•Knowledge of testing best practices and skill in implementing them in SDLC - Required

•Knowledge of frameworks and software design patterns used for implementing software solutions - Required

•Ability to present and facilitate technical ideas while creating alignment among audience of varying disciplines - Required

•Ability to determine alignment of new technologies to HCA Healthcare strategic roadmap - Required

•Ability to elicit and gather requirements for automation projects by working directly with internal/external customers - Required

•Ability to become a trusted advisor, lead projects and programs, be a catalyst for change, dive collaboration among the automation community, and be a thought leader at HCA Healthcare - Required

•Ability to create project plans, understand dependencies, and drive towards identified milestones - Required

•Knowledge of automation landscape, current and future industry offerings, and internal HCA Healthcare capabilities - Required

•Understanding of the HCA Healthcare technical landscape - Required

•Skill in using scripts to execute processes - Required

•Skill in utilizing GitHub repositories as code repositories and version control - Required

•Extensive depth of knowledge in one or more automation domains - Required

•Knowledge of how contracting is handled - Required

•Ability to work, make aligned decisions, plan and accomplish goals without explicit direction/guidance from leadership – Required

•Ability to multitask, managing multiple projects and priorities - Required

•Ability to be detail oriented and organized - Required

•Ability to be adaptable and flexible and to handle ambiguity and changing priorities - Required

•Behavior constituting professional demeanor and positive attitude - Required

•Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence principles and capabilities and the ability to identify use cases for it - Preferred

•Knowledge of Machine Learning principles and capabilities, and the ability to identify use cases for it - Preferred

•Ability to promote, recommend, and implement improvements to automation frameworks and processes - Preferred

•Ability to teach other team members and other external staff - Preferred

•Ability to design, develop, and monitor KPI, operational metrics, and other relevant automation data - Preferred

•Ability to make decisions based on observed trends in the industry and platform - Preferred

•Ability to perform interviews, evaluate candidates, assist with career path and performance evaluations of team members - Preferred

•Knowledge of system architecture - Preferred

Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis.
