The Data Engineer will serve the clinically integrated network in a role focused on scope, design, and development of various data ecosystems, best practice ETL processing, and data modeling. You will collaborate with internal analytic team members to gather requirements, understand business cases, provide data mapping, and support in development of new data pipelines. You will often be working with large and sometimes unstructured datasets associated with delivery of healthcare to include claims, HL7 interfaces, CRM systems, and additional unstructured data pipelines. Ultimately, you will be responsible for providing structured relational data sources to the Analytics and Care Team through a data warehouse, data cube, or data feed utilizing developed processes and structured approaches.

You will function as a domain expert and primary developer for building out data ecosystems through best practice and innovative approaches
Develop processes for data modeling & ETL for various data pipelines that become the standard for the organization
Employ a variety of programming and scripting languages to join data together from various systems and source in an efficient and flexible storage solution

You will possess an affinity for innovation to approach design and solution of data storage and retrieval
Define and develop data governance strategy for the organization
You will ensure data integrity in partnership HCA data analytic resources
Possess the ability to work REMOTELY

We are an office environment, provide telephonic patient care and work with practice staff so there are no beds in the office.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree 7+ years of experience within healthcare technology and analytics domain with focus on data platform scope, design, and development
In-depth knowledge of administrative medical claims data as well as EMR and healthcare exchange systems including but not limited to HL& 2.x, 3.x, FHIR, & HIE integration profiles
Understanding of general medical terminology and healthcare code sets
Demonstrated expert knowledge of multiple object-oriented languages/tools involved in data management (T-SQL, NoSQL, Data Streaming, Shell Scripts, R, Python)
Experience creating infrastructure for operationalizing machine learning and predictive models
Knowledge and expertise in BI software (Tableau, PowerBI, Etc.) helpful but not required
Possesses strong organizational and process analysis skills
Excellent communication skills [verbal and written] are essential
Possesses interpersonal skills to work in a high profile and fast paced team environment
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects within deadlines
A comfort, or even preference, for an environment of discovery and uncertainty
Possess the ability to work REMOTELY
