PatientKeeper, a leading provider of healthcare applications for physicians, is now part of HCA, the largest provider of healthcare services in the U.S.  With growth comes new opportunity, so we are searching for a Senior Database Administrator to join our Services team.

The Database is at the core of our software solution.  As a PatientKeeper Senior Database Administrator (DBA), your goal will be to make certain that all of our databases are running with optimal performance, availability, and security protections. A successful PatientKeeper DBA is comfortable working autonomously, or collaboratively with our Customers, PatientKeeper Implementation, and Engineering teams.

Core Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain multiple Oracle Enterprise databases on both Windows and Linux OS platforms, including Real Application Cluster (RAC) and remote standby (Dataguard)
  • Perform Oracle backups, and recovery using Export/Import, Datapump, RMAN etc.
  • Analyze database performance using standard Oracle tools (Oracle Performance pack, sqlt, AWR, ASH etc.)
  • Identify and evaluate industry trends in new database systems and technologies
  • Write PL/SQL stored procedures and function
  • Review and approve SQLs before deploying at customers site
  • Work with Oracle Support on critical issues, following management escalation processes
  • Participate in 24x7 on call rotations, with some afterhours / weekend  scheduled coverage

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in Oracle database administration
  • 2 years’ experience managing database in a multi-platform environment
  • Strong troubleshooting, and problem solving skills
  • Works well individually as well as within collaborative teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Adheres to group processes, including methodology and timekeeping
  • Excels collaborating cross functionally with other departments
  • Experience working in cloud technologies and migration a plus
  • Working experience within the healthcare industry a plus
