CT Technician (PRN)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Staff will operate computerized axial tomography CT equipment for performance of patient exams.  Staff will coordinate scheduling of CT Scans for maximum equipment utilization.  Staff will be available for emergency call-back after normal working hours.  The North Hills Hospital staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the older adult through geriatric and pediatric patients from newborn through adolescence.  The attached criteria based performance evaluation provides a specific set of standards as they relate to age specific competency.

Medical City North Hills is licensed for 164 beds, has over 300 physicians and 30 medical specialties. The ER has about 39,000 visits each year and is a Level III Trauma Center. Additionally, we are a Primary Stroke Center, perform spine surgery and joint replacements and have a comprehensive cardiovascular services department. Our hospital is an accredited Cycle 5 Chest Pain Center with a cardiac rehabilitation program.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

      Graduate of a program in Radiology Technology.

Must be ARRT registered in CT

Current Texas State License is required.

Experience:

       Minimum One year CT Scan experience preferred.

Specific Requirements:

       Provide computerized assisted tomography studies to patients as ordered by physicians.

        Follows prescribed techniques in administering all types of X-rays.

        Administers intravenous and oral contrast materials when specified.

        Orders supplies.

        Maintains accurate log of patient procedures.

        Completes proper necessary paperwork for billing procedures.

        Transports patients
