If you are proactive, goal-oriented team player with the ability to work independently this Physical Therapist PRN position is perfect for you!
The duties and responsibilities of the Physical Therapist PRN include, but are not limited to:
Evaluates, assesses and sets up a comprehensive physical therapy treatment plan for each new patient according to his or her age. Assumes responsibilities for assigning appropriate other personnel to duties to carry out the treatment plan in order to reach short term and long term goals. To ensure proper documentation of all treatments carried out.
Supervises and reassesses patient treatment plans and documents progress in a timely fashion as determined by department policies. Reports progress to appropriate personnel and physicians.
Participates in discharge planning with related health professionals such as Social Services, M.D.'s, and other Rehab personnel. Provides recommendations based on observed evaluation and progress of patients to ensure safe and appropriate discharges.
Instructs patients in proper use of adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs and crutches and ensures that all persons involved understand instructions.
Provides and educates patients in appropriate exercise programs and coping skills. Adapts conventional Physical Therapy techniques to meet the age appropriate need of each patient along with other specific needs based on his/her mental, physical, and emotional status.
Provides education to related health professionals and/or the public about physical therapy techniques, body mechanics, and assistive techniques.
Supervise and train physical therapy students as requested.
Appropriately assign and supervise specific treatment procedures to physical therapy assistants or aides.
Perform and ensure that department infection control, preventive maintenance, safety precaution, hazardous waste precautions, fire precautions, disaster policy, and other procedural policies are understood and carried out at the appropriate times.
Attend meetings and assists with Quality Assurance, new employee/volunteer orientation, billing, ordering, and statistical studies as requested by supervisor.
