Job Summary

The OR Charge Nurse is responsible for direction of patient care in the perioperative setting.  Manages staff members in the unit.  Consults with staff, physicians and Director of Surgical Services regarding nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs and safety are met.  Maintains performance improvement activities and assists in formulating budget.

Qualifications

  • Florida Registered Nurse Licensure, or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
  • ACLS, BLS required
  • 3 or more years of previous experience in Perioperative nursing.
  • Current CNOR certification is preferred.  
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
