The Director works under the direction and in collaboration of the Chief Nursing Officer to create a work environment within the adult intensive care units that facilitates and encourages team members to demonstrate accountability for their roles and responsibilities, practice, an environment that empowers team members at all levels of the organization to utilize critical thinking and participate in decision making that effect patient care. The Director is responsible for operational effectiveness of the Adult Intensive Care Units. The Director works with the Chief Nursing Officer to develop implement and evaluate care strategies, professional practice and patient care delivery models and clinical quality initiatives, professional development opportunities and research initiatives. The Director assures responsibility to serve in leadership roles for specific initiatives/projects as assigned. The Director collaborates with other key leaders and disciplines to enhance quality patient care in the Adult Intensive Care Unit. The Director serves as mentor to managers and team members, and participates in organizational professional and community initiatives to improve the quality of patient outcomes.The Director will develop and support the strategic direction and operational needs of the department. What you will do in this role:
· You will manage the daily operations of departments while being responsible for policies, budget, quality, culture, patient experience and staff evaluations.
· You will use interpretive skills, frequent interactive and consultative associations along with management and supervisory skills are inherent in the position.
· You will use your ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory or visual fashion.
· Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of work or able to obtain licensure prior to start is required
· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Required; Master’s Degree in health-related field preferred
· BLS and ACLS required
· 5+ years of experience in patient care experience; 5+ years of management experience
· CCRN certification preferred
