The Chest Pain Center Coordinator
functions in the role of expert clinician, consultant, researcher and educator.
Applies advanced nursing process skills providing clinical expertise,
leadership, and staff development for defined patient populations in support of
facility goals dedicated to excellence, effective leadership, and financial
stability. In doing so, plans, organizes
and implements continuity of chest pain care to include
involvement in continuous process improvement; patient, public, professional
education; protocol development; database management. Serve as liaison between chest
pain-cardiac service and other hospital departments. Fosters and maintains
positive relationships among patients, nursing staff/departments, physicians
and administration to ensure appropriate design and promotion of programs.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is
appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
- Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred
- Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required; or appropriate multi-state RN license
- BLS-AHA provider required upon hire
- 3 years of progressive clinical nursing practice with demonstrated experience in the defined clinical practice area required
- 1 year of staff education/development experience preferred
- 1 year of advanced clinical nursing practice preferred
