POSITION SUMMARY (Infection Prevention): Under the supervision of the Director Quality/Risk, the Infection Prevention RN has the responsibility of assisting in preparing Cache Valley Hospital for Joint Commission, CMS, State and other regulatory agency surveys. Assist to facilitate quality improvement activities and improvement processes and will assist in developing and implementing mock surveys and self-assessment tools in collaboration with operational managers and directors. Analyzes reports and data such as regulatory agency evaluations, self-assessments, and investigations, and develops summaries and recommended action plans. Coordinates and performs activities related to the regulatory surveys. Responsible for assisting in obtaining the hospital accreditation—ensures availability of current references of regulatory agency standards and communicates changes to management and staff. Assures hospital policies and procedures follow regulatory agency standards and hospital protocols follow hospital policies including plans and evaluations identified by the regulatory agency. Familiar with and understands medical process, terminology, medications, documentation process, and contents of a patient’s medical record, and has the ability to analyze information as needed.
