Seeking a Lead Cook to join our team preparing, seasoning, and cooking a wide variety of meats, vegetables, soups, breakfast dishes, and other food items in appropriate quantities while following menus, recipes, and production sheets and maintaining a clean and sanitary work area. Coordinates the activities of subordinates 


What you will do in this position:


  • Reads daily menus to ensure cooking times are coordinated for timely preparation of all food products.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of cooking ingredients and supplies by ordering from supervisor when needed.
  • Ensures leftovers are properly stored and kitchen is ready for preparation of next meal.
  • Instructs and supervises the activities of other employees performing the same or related duties.
  • Demonstrates, understands, and practices safe food handling techniques including dating/labeling, time/temperature measurements, correcting critical control issues.
  • Assists in developing new items for menus. Verifies food is cooked satisfactorily and problem solves when necessary. 

Qualifications

Education:
  • No degree required
What qualifications you will need:
  • Two (2) years food service experience required.
  • Food Protection Manager Certification preferred.
