The ER Charge Nurse is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care to the emergently ill patient. The quality of care given will be in keeping with the philosophy and objectives of the hospital and the Department of Nursing and will maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice in order to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community. The ED Charge Nurse, in collaboration with the Assistant Director, Director and Medical Director of the Emergency Department coordinates and supervises the nursing activities within the ED.
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
•Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
•Acceptable degrees from an accredited school include: Diploma Program in Nursing, an Associate Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
•RN License in this state (required)
•Florida RN License, AHA BLS. ACLS, PALS, & TNCC within 6 months.
ENPC & CPI within 1 year of hire.
•1-3 years Emergency Department experience
*Sign on bonus available to candidates who have 2 years of direct related work experience. Bonus comes with 2 year commitment. Bonus is not available to current HCA employees
