Job Summary

This Contract Manager will manage solicitation, evaluation, negotiation and implementation of vendor agreements for national contract areas involving medical supplies and professional services. Additionally, the position will manage the HCA National Contracts Process for Physician Owned or Connected entities ensuring compliance to HCA’s POE Policies. Ensure that detailed POE Reports are available to all HCA Division Supply Chain’s to so that Facilities affected by Policy LL029 or LL027 have the required Physician and Vendor information to maintain compliance. Manage the Vendor Certification Process and Fair Market Value analysis in accordance with HCA’s POE Policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Division Contracting Directors, Contract Analysts, Legal Counsel and others to facilitate the finalization of contract documents and amendments managed by the HCA Contracting team.
  • Supervisory role in the implementation and maintenance of HCA’s POE Contracting efforts.
  • Participates in all aspects of communications including both internal and external customers. This responsibility refers to all communication resources within the HCA POE Contracting Processes.
  • Lead projects from strategic vision to execution.
  • Review and approve all requests to utilize new Physician Owned or Connected Entities to ensure compliance
  • Perform data mining activities to validate HCA facilities are following physician owned vendor policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with HCA legal policies and procedures
  • Work with HealthTrust legal team on acquisition due diligence
  • Responsible for managing contracting team initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment that demands strong capabilities to come in to projects and initiatives without much guidance and deliver them to completion.


Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 3-5 years of related healthcare or industry experience in contract negotiation.
  • In-depth, up-to-date knowledge of healthcare economics..
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan, implement, follow up, the ability to focus and exceptional time management.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including listening and validation, written and spoken skills, tact, diplomacy, and excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Complete professionalism including the qualities of confidence, motivation, accountability, integrity, and humility.
  • Effective skills in conflict management.
  • High energy and willingness to work in an environment where priorities and focus can change routinely.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including basic knowledge of financial and statistical information.
  • Sense of vision, creative imagination, and motivation towards the future of healthcare.
