The RN Program Coordinator leads and facilitates the development, implementation, and ongoing adherence to the identification and treatment of BRMC’s stroke, sepsis, and STEMI patient populations. The RN Coordinator also ensures these programs adhere to the mission and vision of BRMC.

  • Assume responsibility for the clinical coordination and consultation regarding care across the continuum for all stroke, sepsis, and STEMI patients
  • Consult and partner with nursing leadership as needed to achieve desired patient outcomes
  • Assess educational needs of staff and assists in the development of educational programs, staff education materials, and community education as needed
  • Maintain and ensure compliance of continuing stroke education for providers and nursing staff
  • Ensure evidence-based screening and treatment protocols are the standard of care within the facility
  • Provide appropriate feedback and coaching to staff based on data analysis and observation
  • Ensure accurate and timely collection of clinical data, verifying and updating data as needed
  • Share prepared data with key stakeholders in an understandable and meaningful context to motivate adherence to protocols and continuous improvement
  • Co-chair the Stroke Committee and chairs the Sepsis Workgroup
  • Serve as a resource to staff, physicians, patients, and families
  • Complete stroke registry and sepsis core measure abstraction, ensuring core measure requirements are met
  • Perform a variety of technical and specialized tasks involved with the concurrent and retrospective evaluation of patient care
  • Utilize quality improvement tools, including root cause analysis, to investigate fall outs and generate action plans
  • Provide assistance to all hospital departments in implementing and sustaining their quality improvement processes related to stroke, sepsis and STEMI.
  • Assume responsibility for meeting state and national regulatory requirements, including State of Missouri Level 3 Stroke Designation as well as maintaining a state of survey readiness for this program.Participate in division-wide collaboration to improve patient outcomes

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of AIDET, utilizing with each patient interaction
  • Regular, reliable attendance is required to ensure the highest level of patient care
  • Follows hospital safety and quality standards and expectations, as it pertains to job performance and patient care

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid RN license from the MO Board of Nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN, BSN or MSN degree
  • Current BLS certification
  • ACLS within 6 monts
  • 3+ years Nursing in a Critical Care setting
  • Compassionate, friendly and driven to excellence
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

  • Possess the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Effective decision-making skills with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform in a high-stress environment
