POSITION SUMMARY:


The ED Quality Management Coordinator, under the direction of the Vice President of Quality, is responsible for providing organizational assistance and guidance with performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and survey readiness functions at MountainView Hospital in the Emergency Department. The ED Quality Management Coordinator shall develop and maintain standards in conjunction with the medical staff and Administration, and shall facilitate support services to the emergency room staff. The ED Quality Management Coordinator shall provide consultation relative to the development of generic and department-specific screens which shall meet Joint Commission, CMS and regulatory requirements. The ED Quality Management Coordinator will be involved in emergency room specific performance improvement projects.

 

Performs a variety of administrative support duties which require a substantial knowledge of Hospital and Medical Staff Services Policies and Procedures, and Tools in Quality Management. Interacts with physicians, hospital directors, other hospital executives, as well as patients and families. Must demonstrate a professional approach to open and honest communication; adheres to and promotes proactive patient, personal and facility safety.

Qualifications

Work Schedule:  Monday through Friday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. If no Bachelor’s degree, enrolled in BSN program or related degree required within one year of promotion or hire.
  • MSN or healthcare related Master’s degree preferred

Experience:

  • 1 year recent Emergency Department experience required
  • Quality Management experience preferred
  • Previous computer experience required

License/Cert:

  • Registered Nurse, licensed in State of Nevada required

Special Skills:

  • Physical Assessment
  • Lab Data Interpretation
  • Nursing Theory
  • Basic computer and hospital informatics skills; Microsoft Office, Allegiance, HPF
