The responsibilities of the Perinatal Sonography Team Lead include, but are not limited to:
Demonstrates effective leadership through communication with department staff, physicians, and internal/external customers. Assumes accountability for decisions and actions and maintains professional manner when faced with a difficult situation. Recognizes, assesses, acts and relays appropriate information regarding department issues to the Director and/or Clinical Program Mgr.
Utilize independent judgment and decision making in complex situations involving the administration of diagnostic ultrasound. Assumes administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of managing the training and programs of ultrasound services in conjunction with Director of Ultrasound.
Assists with development and oversight of internal clinic guidelines and procedures in conjunction with Director, Physicians and Managers as they relate to ultrasound.
Oversight of Quality Control/Performance Improvement Goals and Development for Ultrasound Services in conjunction with Director of U/S and Clinical Program Manager.
Re-implement Ultrasound Quality Assurance and Peer Review Audits.
Coordinate and maintain AIUM (American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine) accreditation with The Perinatal Director of Ultrasound Services for all Perinatal Departments.
Promote teamwork, service excellence, and patient centered care among sonographers and Perinatal team in conjunction with Clinical Program Manager, Business Manager, Program Director and Director of Ultrasound
Assist with oversight/Coordination of interfaces of software programs (Meditech, Viewpoint, ECW, HPF) to ensure accurate documentation, statistics, and billing
Oversee management of all ultrasound equipment to include required maintenance contracts.
Assists with Sonographer staffing levels appropriate to patient volume as needed.
Assist with functionality of Viewpoint in conjunction with clinical program manager.
Coordinate Infection Control procedures and annual Trophon competencies across the market.
Coordinate and oversee diagnostic supplies and annual supply inventory across the market.

REQUIRED: Five years minimum as a Registered Sonographer, with progressive management experience.
PREFERRED: Previous experience as Sonography Supervisor and/or Team Lead in a Multi-campus setting.
REQUIRED: Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology and trained in ultrasound technology or graduate of an AMA approved School of Ultrasound Technology. Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT or the ARDMS for licensure.
