Our nurses who work within the post-anesthesia care unit/recovery unit care for and monitored patients as they recover from the effects of anesthesia. PACU nurse responsibilities include all aspects of patient care following surgery. This care includes monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and respiration, as well as managing the pain and nausea that often follow anesthesia. Our PACU has 15 bays.

Qualifications

Requirements:

· Nursing Diploma or ASN required, BSN preferred

· Current Florida State RN license or compact state RN license 

· Current BLS through American Heart Association required               

· Current ACLS preferred; required within 6 months of hire

· Minimum one year RN experience preferred but not required

· Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Critical

   thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal 

   supervision in a fast paced environment

· Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, 

   squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 

   pounds

 

Call Requirements:

  • Must be able to arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes during on-call periods
