The responsibilities of the Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) include, but are not limited to:
Scrubs and circulates diagnostic and interventional procedures and cares for patients post intervention.
Takes call as needed per hospital/department policy.
Restocks and cleans work area to promote patient safety.
Responsible for all phases of cine processing/cine-less technology.
Transports and assists RN with the setup of and circulation of patients.
Actively participates in Continuing Education.
Serves as a liaison for the Cath Lab to promote physician, interdepartmental, and intra departmental relationships.
Utilizes equipment and performs special procedures as related to the Cath Lab Scope of Care.
Effectively communicates verbal and written information, instruction, or education to the patient, family members, and other members of the health care team as appropriate.

Required - One year in clinical program or two years Cath Lab.
Preferred - Experience in related medical area.
Required - High School graduate.
Preferred - Graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology and/or two years of Cath Lab experience as a CVT.
BLS certification for the health care worker (Adult and Child).
ACLS certification within one year of hire date.
