The responsibilities for the PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist include but are not limited to:

 
  • Perform a variety of nuclear medicine studies to include all types of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

     
  • Order, prepare, calibrate, store, and administer radiopharmaceuticals for routine, on-call, and therapeutic procedures in accordance with CJW Medical Center’s license agreement.

     
  • Operates various radiation detection devices, and other instruments that measure the quantity and distribution of radionuclides within a patient or patient specimen.

     
  • Performs quality control of various instruments.

     
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the department

     
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations. (i.e. Meditech and PACS ) Ensure proper charges are entered and referring physician’s orders are verified.

     
  • Perform quarterly inventories of radioactive sealed sources

     
  • Perform decontamination procedures
     
  • Participate in maintenance of departmental records, manuals, and inventory according to hospital and NRC regulations.

     
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according to Policy and Procedure.

     
  • Completes and maintains educational requirements

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE
 

PREFERRED: Minimum of one year as a nuclear medicine technologist

 
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:  (Required) 
 

REQUIRED: Graduate of AMA approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.  ARRT-N or CNMT licensed.  Continuing education as required for licensure       .

Current BLS CPR certification
