HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is looking for
a Registered Nurse (RN) – Discharge Express Unit.
The Staff RN assigned to
the Discharge Express Unit cares for adult and geriatric patients. The
Discharge Nurse position is to provide a more effective discharge process for
patients and a supportive work environment for nurses.
- Assists floor nurses with
transfers to facilities
- Education of patient/family on
discharge medications & Instructions
- Ensure all discharge related
paperwork has been initiated
- Responsible for assessing,
planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients.
- Responsible for meeting the
Standards of Practice for the Medical Surgical Units and managing all
assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
- Participates in activities to
plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.
- Responds to Code Blue and
implements life-saving measures,.
- Monitors special drugs.
- Assesses patients in an on
going manner, per protocol.
- Assists physician with procedures,
- Assumes the responsibility of
working as a staff nurse during critical staffing needs
- Responsible for assessment of
patient with telemetry monitoring.
- Responsible for maintaining
customer friendly atmosphere.
- Draws blood from venous lines.
- Models and reinforces behavior
consistent with goals for teaching the patient, communicates patient
status to appropriate member of the healthcare team, and provides support
to the family, as needed.
- Scanning supplies from P.O.U.
- 2 Years Clinical Experience
- 5 years preferred
- BS Nursing preferred.
- Current licensure with Board of
Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
