Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

What you will do in this role:

 

  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients in the NICU.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures of the NICU that guide and support the provision of services
  • Responsible for meeting the standards of Practice for NICU and managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment.
  • Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.
  • Performs assessment of infant and neonatal patients.
  • Performs nursing care of NICU patients. 
  • Performs gestational age assessments.
  • Scanning supplies from P.O.U. area.
  • Scanning all breastmilk for administration.
  • Scanning medications appropriately.
  • Provides Developmental Appropriate Care of the neonate and infant.
  • Demonstrates appropriate usage and understanding of equipment used in the department.
  • Participates in mandatory unit education activities
  • Participates in the discharge process to include parent teaching.

Qualifications

Education

·        Bachelors of Science in Nursing 

What qualifications you will need:

·        Current Texas licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners as an RN.

·        One (1) year of NICU experience is required in a hospital setting.

·        BLS is required
