Emergency Department Technician

Full Time Evenings (Rotating Weekends)
JOB SUMMARY: Under the guidance of a registered nurse, serves as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance with caring for the Emergency department neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population. Must be able to cross-train as a Unit Secretary. Maintain supplies for the emergency department. Performs EKG’s, IV insertions, lab draws, splints as directed by the RN.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
-Must currently be a senior nursing student one year from graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing or have graduated from EMT-B or EMT-P program.
-High School graduate or GED required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
-Current Basic Life Support (BLS) via American Heart Association
-Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) required
-Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) via AHA required within 3 months after hire.
