Position Summary:

  • Operates and maintains steam generating, air-conditioning and distribution systems in compliance with Denver code.  

  • Observes and adjusts equipment as necessary to maintain a comfortable environment. 
  • Regulate equipment to maximize energy savings. T
  • est water and fuel, adjust chemical treatment, and perform preventive maintenance to keep readings at desired levels and extend life of equipment. 
  • Record readings, work requests and phone inquiries to provide a constant record of operations. 
  • Performs safety inspections of equipment to comply with City Codes and medical center regulations. 
  • Keep Plant and equipment clean and serviceable. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Current Stationary Engineer Certificate issued by the City and County of Denver Building Inspection Division

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Four years experience high pressure boiler and mechanical refrigeration systems operation.
  • Ability to operate and repair steam-generating and air-conditioning systems and supporting equipment. 
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and appropriate testing procedures. 
  • Ability to assess and promptly respond to mechanical failures. Ability to interact with medical center personnel and outside services and inspectors.
