Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, located on Florida's Emerald Coast, seeks a Registered Nurse to join our Team as the Coordinator of Outreach and Injury Prevention.

Fort Walton Beach Medical Center is one of the nation's top performers on quality measures for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care. The hospital has the tri-county's only comprehensive cardiovascular program. It is also the only acute care hospital in the area that offers open heart surgery, an Advanced Primary Stroke Center accredited by the Joint Commission, a Chest Pain Center and a Cancer Care Center that is affiliated with UAB and accredited by the Commission on Cancer.
Outreach/Injury Prevention Coordinator, under the direction of the Director of
Trauma Services, promotes effective outreach education and injury prevention
programs to the customers served. This position will coordinate and manage the
Fort Walton Beach Medical Center’s Injury Prevention Program assuring
compliance with American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma Standards for
Level II trauma programs, State of Florida Trauma Center Standards, as well as,
JC standards, complying with all state and federal regulations, corporate and
hospital policy and procedures.
- Current FL RN license required or appropriate
compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required
within 90 days of hire.
- TNCC - required within 90 days of
- TNCC Course
Director Instructor – required within 6 months of hire
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:
- Minimum of 10 trauma related CEU’s
per year required
- 4 years minimum experience in an
ER trauma setting.
- Detail oriented and must be able
to organize and complete work under deadlines.
- Must be able to work
- Experience in Microsoft Word,
- Prefer experience in Trauma Registry
activities or Other Registry Database systems.
Familiarity with ICD-10 coding, AIS/ISS scoring, TRISS.
