Position Type: Full Time
Work Schedule: The operating room has various work schedules that include (12 hour and 8 hour shifts) 0700-1500; 1500-2300; 2300-0700 plus call 1-2 shifts per week typical and 1 weekend per month.

Nurse is a member of the operating room team, which most commonly include
surgeons, anesthesia care providers, and surgical techs.
*Prior to an operation the
RN helps prepare the operating room by setting up equipment, opening sterile
supplies and solutions and preparing medications.
*Possesses knowledge and
skills pertaining to sterile technique, and practices, to nursing principles,
and practices for best patient outcomes.
*Accepts, identifies using dual identification, verifies site, and
assesses each patient on arrival formulating a nursing diagnosis.
*Develops a plan to achieve patient goals as
applicable to age and patient needs.
*Evaluates and documents each patient’s response to interventions.
*Teaches patient, family and/or significant others
about preoperative cycle.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
- BSN preferred
- CNOR Certified Nurse, Operating Room preferred
- Prior OR experience preferred
- Idaho RN or Compact State RN License (required)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
- PALS - must obtain within 6 months from start date.
- One-year experience in acute care (preferred)
