St Mark’s Hospital’s Freestanding ED – Taylorsville Emergency Center is the fourth of its kind in Utah. The satellite ER provides comprehensive, hospital-based emergency services. It is equipped and staffed to deliver high-quality patient care. Taylorsville Emergency Center offers 10 patient exam rooms for anyone in the city who needs emergency care. Experienced, board-certified physicians associated with St. Mark’s Hospital deliver medical services in this location on a 24/7 basis. The physicians, nurses, and other staff of St. Mark’s at the ER quickly diagnose and treat life-threatening conditions, such as chest pain and stroke. They can also treat other types of medical emergencies, including traumatic injuries. The facility features comprehensive imaging services, including computerized tomography (CT scan), X-ray, and ultrasound as well as a fully-equipped medical laboratory. This technology helps the specialists to diagnosis and treat patients quickly and accurately!
The Registered Nurse in the Charge Nurse role is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care. The nurse in this role will be expected to fulfill the following skills, including but not limited to: provide competent, safe care for medical patients, such as diabetes and digestive disorders, hematology and acute disease processed in some cancer patients, renal, pre and post operative surgical patient care needs, other disorders of the muscular/skeletal system, cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia interpretation and treatment, acute patient assessment and response, respiratory and cardiac disease processes, and teaching across multiple disease processes. The nurse assumes responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period.
Minimum of six (6) months of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of the specified unit/department. ED experience required.
· Current UT RN license. Current BLS.
