Magnet recognition is the gold standard for nursing excellence and includes model elements for delivering superior patient care such as the quality of nursing leadership and coordination and collaboration across specialties, as well as processes for measuring and improving the quality and delivery of care.
The ICU RN provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient and in support of the Mission, Vision, and Philosophy of Nursing of Frankfort Regional Medical Center. The ICU RN performs patient care under the direction of the Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator/ Supervisor, and Nursing Director. The ICU RN must be strong decision maker and comply with regulatory and Service Excellence standards. Care is provided in a patient and family-centered environment and in collaboration with physician and ancillary departments.
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Licensure/Certifications: Must hold a current license from the Kentucky Board of Nursing. BLS required upon hire and ACLS within six months of hire. CCRN within 1 year of eligibility, preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years of previous experience preferred. Prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided is preferred. Previous emergency, pre-hospital or critical care preferred. The ICU nurse should have the ability to carry out all responsibilities in a thorough and timely manner. Demonstrate expertise in area of clinical specialization. Excellent communication (verbal, written), interpersonal, organizational, leadership, exceptional interpersonal relations and problem solving skills required.
