Seeking a Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the Cancer Treatment Center to serve as the leader of the Nursing Care team who is ultimately responsible and accountable to the patient for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient focused, outcome oriented care. 


What you will do in this role:

  • The Radiation Oncology Nurse works with the radiation team to care for patients during the course of treatment.
  • He/She helps evaluate the patient before treatment begins.
  • He/She may talk to the patient about potential side effects and their management.
  • During the course of radiation treatments, the nurse may evaluate the patient weekly or more frequently to assess problems and concerns.
  • Nurses play a key role in educating the patient about treatment, side effects, etc.
  • The radiation oncology nurse will consistently offer the highest level of patient care with compassion and efficiency adhering to the Departmental and Medical Center policies and procedures.



What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of a 2 year accredited RN program (BS preferred)
  • Licensed by the Louisiana State Nursing Board
  • CPR for Healthcare Providers certification within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
