Operating Room Manager - Interim
This is an interim assignment.
Upon completion of Interim role the successful candidate will transfer to a Nurse opportunity on the unit or could be considered for other opportunities at EIRMC or HCA Healthcare affiliated hospitals
The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a modern, Joint Commission-accredited, 330-bed full-service hospital located in Idaho Falls. Idaho Falls offers a rich variety of outdoor activities with Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Jackson, WY and Sun Valley all within a short drive from our hospital.
*The Manager of the Operating Room provides direction and oversight to a specific unit within these Peri-Operative Services Departments.
*The Manager is responsible for effectively managing the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and well being of all patients in the assigned department on a 24 hour, 7 days/week basis.
*The Manager is responsible for meeting the strategic initiatives that highlight the “Five Pillars of Success” (Growth, Service, People, Quality and Financial).
*The Manager espouses the mission, values and ethics of the corporation, hospital, and nursing department and serves as a professional role model for the Surgical Services Department.
*The Manager of the Operating Room supports the vision of growth opportunities for the Surgical Services Department and is accountable in the support and implementation of “Strategic Initiatives” set forth on the Surgical Services unit.
*Participates in activities that provide professional growth and development.
*In concert with the Surgical Services vision and goals, the Manager oversees day-to-day operations as well as provides administrative call.
*Provides direct patient care per need of unit within reason.
*Fosters positive environment and ensures effective communication flows between all necessary parties involved in the continuum of care. Follows the established chain of command.
*Implements customer satisfaction strategies (employees, physicians, patients and families) to meet defined goals as defined in the “Strategic Initiatives”.
*Conducts department and patient rounds with reason.
*Completion from accredited school of nursing.
*Must maintain current State Registered Nursing License or Compact License.
*Current AHA CPR for Healthcare Providers certification and hospital mandatory education requirements. ACLS and PALS required.
*BSN or enrolled in BSN program with completion date within 3 years required, MSN preferred.
Min 3-5 years of relative, progressive clinical and management experience required.
Has frequent interaction with physicians, nursing staff, ancillary departments, patients and their families. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely with sensitivity and maturity.
This position requires leadership abilities, professionalism, common sense, flexibility, honesty, and service oriented attitude.
