SCHEDULE: Full-time

Central Florida Regional Hospital, a 221-bed acute care hospital and Level II trauma center, serves the communities of Seminole and west Volusia counties. The hospital provides the only full-service cardiovascular program in Seminole and west Volusia, including open heart surgeryinterventional cardiologyelectrophysiologycardiac rehabilitation and comprehensive diagnostic services. Other specialized services include orthopedic and spine carerobotic surgerywound careacute inpatient medical rehabilitation, complete imaging services and The Baby Suites. Central Florida Regional Hospital is located 3.6 miles east of I-4 between S.R. 46 and Highway 17-92 in Sanford.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  The RN Stroke & Sepsis Coordinator utilizes a variety of clinical and leadership skills to educate, consult, and facilitate the service-line team in achieving the highest quality of service and satisfaction for the patients.

 

JOB DUTIES (including, but not limited to):

  • Facilitates the development, implementation and ongoing adherence of stroke & sepsis program protocols and therapies.  Ensures the protocols and therapies become the standard of care followed within the facility. 
  • Collaborates with medical and hospital staff to provide multidisciplinary care to stroke & septic patients.  Provides education and clinical expertise to care team, patients, and families.
  • Collects and analyzes sepsis program patient data to assist with documentation, coding, clinical care and improved outcomes.
  • Participates in rounding and proactively responds to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively impact overall patient experience.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Current FL RN (Registered Nurse) license required; or appropriate compact license
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • A minimum of 3 years of Acute Care, Critical Care, and/or ED experience with a solid grasp of hemodynamics
  • Prior Stroke and/or Sepsis experience is strongly desired, or prior Quality experience with core measure abstraction for sepsis and stroke.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office.
