Under the direction of the Director of Case Management, the Manager of Case Management is responsible for assisting the Director of Case Management with the case management program, including the functions of case management, utilization management, and discharge planning for the Hospital. 

The Manager of Case Management will help assess and evaluate the care/services rendered, staffing levels, competency and educational needs of the case management staff and effectively coordinates and controls resources.  The Manager of Case Management  participates in the annual review of the Case Management/Utilization Management Plan of the hospital.


Minimum Education

  • A bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university is preferred

Minimum Work Experience
  •  5 years health care experience, Supervisory/Management experience preferred; Health care regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • 2 years’ experience in Case Management required

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • A current and valid license as RN in the State of California

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Self-directed and able to work under pressure and constant change.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with medical staff, hospital personnel, patients, and their families
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to identify problems, generate and analyze feasible solutions, and choose a course of action
  • The Manager of CM department reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer
  • Responsible for supervising, delegating and coordinating the work of exempt and non-exempt staff.
  • Degree of supervision required: Minimal, individual proceeds on his/her own initiative, in compliance with policies, practices and procedures prescribed by professional nursing practice and approved by the hospital’s CFO
